Hello friends, I’m so glad you’re here! I want to share with you why I created this space on the world wide web.
As a naturally curious person, I have found myself wondering things such as, “Why do I have zero self control when it comes to anything chocolate, chip, or cookie?” and “Why does my body have an adverse response to running? (cough, cough)”
I have also wondered “Why do I struggle with overthinking?” “Why do I hate conflict?” “Why do I fear social rejection?” and “Why do I care so much about being likable and coming across as competent?”
Have you wondered similar things?
The short answer is: BECAUSE WE’RE HUMAN
The long answer, and the answer that is the reason for this blog, is we are all living the legacies of our ancestors. The way they lived life, who they were friends with, and how they learned to communicate all contributes to where we are today.
Why is this concept so important?
Learning about my ancestors has given me the ability to extend grace where I have judged, and to love where I was frustrated.
Some legacies need to be broken.
Even though I am living out their legacies, I too, am an ORIGIN point– Something great has the potential of beginning with me.
I have been given the chance to intentionally love my family, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
You have that chance too.
In this space, I want to share with you what I’m learning about initiating intentional conversation, loving unconditionally, living your legacy, and being an ORIGIN point.
We’ll walk through difficult topics such as familial shame, addiction, and unhealthy communication, as well as fun topics like family traditions, generational hobbies, and yummy generational recipes.
We will also learn from others and see how they are intentionally living their legacy.
I believe powerful learning comes from listening to the personal stories of others.
This space will be filled with joy, laughter, genuine conversation, and of course, chocolate chip cookies.
If this sounds better than sliced bread to you, join me on this journey! Let’s learn how to intentionally live our legacy. I’ll send you one blog post each week (no spam) with a question at the end for deeper diving. I’m so excited for you to join the ORIGIN LEGACY community.
Let’s be friends! I like you already.
